1. The acts of terrorism referred to in paragraph 1 of the preceding article shall be punished with the following penalties:

1. Imprisonment for the maximum term provided for in this Code if the death of a person is caused.

2. Imprisonment for twenty to twenty-five years when, in cases of kidnapping or unlawful detention, the whereabouts of the person are not disclosed.

3. Imprisonment for fifteen to twenty years if an abortion as defined in Article 144 is caused, injuries as defined in Articles 149, 150, 157, or 158 are inflicted, a person is kidnapped, or damage or arson as defined in Articles 346 and 351, respectively, is caused.

4. Imprisonment for ten to fifteen years if any other injury is caused, or if a person is unlawfully detained, threatened, or coerced.

5. And with the penalty prescribed for the offense committed, increased by half, and possibly by the next higher degree, when it involves any of the other offenses referred to in paragraph 1 of the preceding article.

2. The penalties shall be imposed in their upper half if the acts are committed against the persons mentioned in paragraph 3 of Article 550 or against members of the Security Forces and Corps or the Armed Forces or against public employees serving in penitentiary institutions.

3. The offenses of terrorism referred to in paragraph 2 of the preceding article shall be punished with the next higher degree of penalty than that respectively prescribed in the corresponding articles.

4. The offense of public disorder provided for in paragraphs 2 and 3 of Article 557, as well as the offense of rebellion, when committed by a terrorist organization or group or individually but under their protection, shall be punished with the next higher degree of penalty than those prescribed for such offenses.
