Anyone who, knowing that a crime has been committed and without having participated in it as a perpetrator or accomplice, intervenes after its commission in any of the following ways shall be punished with a prison sentence of six months to three years:

1. Assisting the perpetrators or accomplices in benefiting from the proceeds, product, or price of the crime, without personal gain.

2. Concealing, altering, or rendering unusable the body, effects, or instruments of a crime to prevent its discovery.

3. Assisting those allegedly responsible for a crime to evade investigation by the authorities or their agents, or to escape their search or capture, provided that any of the following circumstances apply:

a) That the concealed act constitutes treason, murder of the King or Queen or any of their ascendants or descendants, of the Queen Consort or the Consort of the Queen, of the Regent or any member of the Regency, or of the Prince or Princess of Asturias, genocide, crime against humanity, crime against persons and property protected in the event of armed conflict, rebellion, terrorism, homicide, piracy, human trafficking, or illegal organ trafficking.

b) That the facilitator has acted with abuse of public office. In this case, in addition to the prison sentence, the special disqualification for employment or public office for a period of two to four years will be imposed if the hidden crime is less serious, and the absolute disqualification for a period of six to twelve years if it is serious.
