Any public official or authority who influences another public official or authority by taking advantage of the powers of their office or any other situation arising from their personal or hierarchical relationship with that official or authority, in order to obtain a decision that may directly or indirectly generate an economic benefit for themselves or a third party, shall be subject to imprisonment for six months to two years, a fine of one to two times the benefit sought or obtained, and special disqualification from public employment or office and from exercising the right to passive suffrage for a period of five to nine years. If the sought benefit is obtained, these penalties shall be imposed in their upper half.
