Any public official or authority who, for their own benefit or that of a third party, receives or solicits, either directly or through an intermediary, a gift, favor or remuneration of any kind, or accepts an offer or promise to perform an act inherent to their position, shall incur a prison sentence of two to four years, a fine of twelve to twenty-four months, and special disqualification from public employment or office and from exercising the right to passive suffrage for a period of five to nine years.
