1. Any public official or employee who, by reason of their office, is entrusted with the custody of documents to which access has been restricted by the competent authority, and who knowingly destroys or renders unusable the means put in place to prevent such access, or consents to their destruction or rendering unusable, shall be punished with imprisonment for six months to one year or a fine of six to twenty-four months and, in any case, special disqualification from public employment or office for a period of one to three years.

2. Any private individual who destroys or renders unusable the means referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be punished with a fine of six to eighteen months.
