1. Any public official who, when requested by a competent authority, fails to provide the necessary assistance for the administration of justice or other public service, shall be subject to a fine of three to twelve months and suspension from public employment or office for a period of six months to two years.
2. If the person requested is an authority, head, or officer of a public force or an agent of the authorities, the penalties shall be a fine of twelve to eighteen months and suspension from public employment or office for a period of two to three years.
3. Any authority or public official who, when requested by a private individual to provide assistance to which they are obligated by reason of their office to prevent a crime against human life, fails to provide such assistance, shall be punished with a fine of eighteen to twenty-four months and special disqualification from public employment or office for a period of three to six years.
If the offense involves a crime against the integrity, sexual freedom, health, or liberty of individuals, it shall be punished with a fine of twelve to eighteen months and suspension from employment or public office for one to three years.
If such a requirement is made to prevent any other crime or harm, it shall be punished with a fine of three to twelve months and suspension from employment or public office for a period of six months to two years.
