For the purposes of the preceding article, currency is understood to mean both metallic and paper money that is legal tender, and any currency that has not yet been officially issued or put into circulation but is intended for circulation as legal tender. The currencies of other European Union countries and foreign currencies shall be considered equivalent to national currency.

Currency shall also be considered counterfeit if, despite being produced in legal facilities and with legal materials, it is produced knowingly in violation of the issuance conditions established by the competent authority, or if it is issued without any issuance order.
