Producers, distributors, or merchants who endanger the health of consumers will be punished with imprisonment for one to four years, a fine of six to twelve months, and special disqualification from practicing their profession, trade, industry, or commerce for a period of three to six years:

1. Offering food products on the market that omit or alter the requirements established in laws or regulations regarding expiration dates or composition.

2. Manufacturing or selling beverages or foodstuffs intended for public consumption that are harmful to health.

3. Trafficking in spoiled goods.

4. Manufacturing products whose use is not authorized and is harmful to health, or trading in such products.

5. Concealing or removing items intended to be destroyed or disinfected, in order to trade them.
