Anyone who abandons a vertebrate animal under their care in conditions that could endanger its life or well-being will be punished with a fine of one to six months or community service of thirty-one to ninety days. They will also be subject to a special disqualification of one to three years from practicing any profession, trade, or business related to animals and from owning animals.
