1. The abandonment of a minor or a person with a disability in need of special protection by the person responsible for their care shall be punished with imprisonment for one to two years.
2. If the abandonment is carried out by the parents, guardians, or legal custodians, a prison sentence of eighteen months to three years shall be imposed.
3. A prison sentence of two to four years shall be imposed when, due to the circumstances of the abandonment, the life, health, physical integrity, or sexual freedom of the minor or the person with a disability in need of special protection has been placed in concrete danger, without prejudice to punishing the act as appropriate if it constitutes another, more serious crime.
