If the accused of slander or libel admits before the judicial authority the falsity or lack of certainty of the accusations and retracts them, the Judge or Court shall impose the immediately lower penalty and may refrain from imposing the disqualification penalty established in the preceding article.
The Judge or Court before whom the admission is made shall order that a copy of the retraction be given to the offended party and, if the latter so requests, shall order its publication in the same medium in which the slander or libel was disseminated, in a space identical or similar to that in which it was published, and within the time period set by the sentencing Judge or Court.
