1. The judge or court shall rule in its judgment on the suspension of the execution of the sentence whenever possible. In all other cases, once the judgment has become final, the judge or court shall rule as quickly as possible, after hearing the parties, on whether or not to grant the suspension of the execution of the sentence.
2. The suspension period shall be calculated from the date of the ruling that grants it. If the suspension was granted in the judgment, the suspension period shall be calculated from the date on which the judgment became final.
The period during which the convicted person remained a fugitive shall not be counted as part of the suspension period.
